Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula grand entry in Bungoma County went wrong.
The embattled Ford Kenya party leader on Friday June 19, 2020 had a confrontation with members of the security forces after he attempted to hold a political rally in Bungoma County despite the Covid19 safety guidelines issued by the government.
Wetangula made a triumphant entry in the county, in a convoy where he was joined by some of his allies in the region โ sparking running battles with police.
They were first teargassed in Kamukuywa and Kimilili towns. Wetangโula was in the company of Kimili MP Didmus Barasa and a section of Bungoma County MCAs.
His supporters were engaging police officers in running battles with several teargas cannisters having been lobbed at Wetangulaโs vehicle.
Wetangula however, managed to force himself into Bungoma town despite the barricades raised by the police. Watch the video below.
