Pangani estate residents were on Sunday forced to spend their night in the cold when the most feared bulldozers from Nairobi County government landed on their houses in an effort to evict them to pave way for development of new houses.
The move sparked a lot of reactions with a section of Kenyans questioning why Governor Mike Sonkoβs government had to evict the victims in the midnight with their property being crashed in the houses.
In a quick response to the critics, Governor Sonko has vowed not to compensate the victims, arguing that those who have not been paid are only those who refused the payment.
The seemingly angry governor told the evictees off, daring them to go to Court.
Sonko further notes that his government shall not allow development plans to be politicised.
βTake your NONSENSE to hell. Those not paid are the ones who refused to take the money, and we are not going to pay them. Let them go to court. We shall not allow development plans to be politicised,β tweeted Sonko.
