On Monday, Mombasa police commander George Kingi lost his gun and claimed that he was accosted by three armed men in TukTuk at around 10 pm as he was going home. They obstructed he road and robbed him the gun. However, there is a new twist after reports indicate that the boss’ driver found the gun behind his house. Police Constable Silas Kimani, his driver, said he found the gun wrapped in a disposable bag behind Mr. Kingi’s house.

This could raise questions on his earlier claims that he was robbed. During that time, the gun had 15 bullets, further reports indicate that Mr. Kimani found it while he was supervising a laborer who was cutting grass in the compound. Manase Musyoka, the Coastal Regional Commander has said that the case is still under investigation.
