Lawyer Miguna Miguna has revealed worrying details amid a war between President William Ruto and the Judiciary.

President Ruto caused an uproar after making remarks against the Judiciary.

The head of state while speaking in Nyandarua on Tuesday, January 2, alleged that some rulings made by the Judiciary were slowing down the implementation of the Kenya Kwanza development agenda.

One of the rulings that provoked the President’s ire was the court order that halted the implementation of the 1.5 per cent housing levy on salaried Kenyans, declaring it unconstitutional.

President Ruto claimed that the court order was a setback to his administration’s efforts to provide affordable housing to Kenyans, which is one of the pillars of the Kenya Kwanza development agenda, and hinted at disobeying subsequent orders.

This irked a section of Kenyans, with the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) announcing that it will organize peaceful protests across the country in defense of the rule of law and in solidarity with the Judiciary.

LSK has also urged its members to wear purple ribbons throughout the next week as a symbol of protest against the President’s threats to defy court orders, which it termed as a “constitutional coup” and a “return of an autocratic regime.”

However, the State House in a quick rejoinder affirmed that President Ruto’s push for judicial reforms is unstoppable, telling off the LSK for criticising and attempting to advise the Head of State on the independence of the Judiciary and Constitutionalism.

In a subsequent statement by Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed, State House intimated that the advice by LSK was not necessary as the President has consistently upheld the rule of law and respected court orders, even in regards to his affordable housing pet project.

The State House response prompted Miguna Miguna to take to his official social media accounts to reveal details that should worry Kenyans.

According to Miguna Miguna, this is just but the beginning of dictatorship in the country.

Miguna says dictatorship starts when the country is hungry, exhausted and desperate.

He goes ahead to note that the dictatorship starts by killing organized institutions and spaces that would protect the people against excesses by those in power.

“This is how dictatorship starts. It creeps in when the country is hungry, exhausted and desperate. It starts by killing organized institutions and spaces that would protect the people against excesses by those in power.

“We cannot allow anyone to turn the judiciary into a scared, threatened and bludgeoned institution because that cannot be in the interest of the people. We need a strong, INDEPENDENT, competent and ETHICAL judiciary. We cannot build one through executive threats, intimidation, coercion, or bribery!” Miguna posted.

In a separate statement, the JSC had also expressed concern over the public criticism and vilification of judges and judicial officers for issuing court orders that are perceived to be against state programmes and policies.

 JSC reaffirmed the independence and integrity of the judiciary as “a co-equal arm of government”, as enshrined in the constitution, and urged all judges and judicial officers to continue performing their judicial duties “without fear or favour”.

Lawyer Miguna Miguna is attending the Mashujaa Day celebrations at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi.

Miguna landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport this morning, exactly 1716 days or about 4 years since he was first forced into exile.

Speaking to the media while arriving at Uhuru Gardens, Miguna Miguna noted that he was feeling exhilarated to have come back home.

“I am feeling exhilarated, I can at least now smell the freshness of Kenyan oxygen and freedom. This is what we wanted,” Miguna said.

He thanked President William Ruto for keeping his word and allowing him back.

“President Ruto is a man of his word, he said he would facilitate my return and he did,” he added.

Asked on his plans after coming back to the country after almost 5 years into the exile, he noted that he will be breathing fresh oxygen and Kenyans should be ready to see what they will see.

“You know me, you will see what you are seeing,” he commented.

At Uhuru Gardens, Miguna was spotted having a deep conversation with former Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

Miguna had earlier on revealed that he was coming back to Kenya to liberate the Luo-Nyanza region.

He is allegedly being groomed to take over from ODM leader Raila Odinga as the region’s political Kingpin.

Miguna, who has been away from the country for close to five years following his deportation to Canada by former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government proceeded to the State event at Uhuru Gardens after landing.

Taking to social media on Wednesday evening, Miguna shared his official invitation to attend Mashujaa Day celebrations that will be held at Uhuru Gardens.

After the national celebration, Miguna is also invited for a luncheon at State House, Nairobi.

Exiled Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna on Thursday, April 28, 2022, gave his opinion just days after Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi announced that he will be defending his seat.

Tim made the announcement after his Nairobi gubernatorial ambitions were ended following Polycarp Igathe’s entry into the race.

Igathe’s entry through the Jubilee party ticket complicated Azimio La Umoja’s Nairobi formation, forcing other aspirants to step down for him.

Tim Wanyonyi’s entry into the Westlands parliamentary race sparked mixed reactions, with a section of Kenyans opining that he was going to retain the seat.

He will now be facing off with the immediate former Law Society of Kenya president Nelson Havi, who is vying on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.

Wanyonyi has pledged his loyalty to his party, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which he will be using to defend his seat.

However, Miguna Miguna has a different opinion.

The controversial lawyer claims that Havi will defeat Tim Wanyonyi in the August 9, 2022 polls.

Through a post on his official Twitter account, Miguna argues that Havi will be the best MP for Westlands, claiming that Wanyonyi is a coward, probably for accepting to step down for Igathe.

Exiled lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has torn into the people threatening Chief Justice David Maraga on his decision on Parliament Dissolution.

Taking to his official social media accounts, Miguna said that the people threatening CJ Maraga do not understand the Constitution or applicable law.

According to his twitter post on Tuesday night, Miguna said that there are valid court orders issued after the two thirds gender rule had been litigated all the way to the Supreme Court.

Miguna went ahead noting that, filing a case to relitigate the issue would be struck out because it would be RES JUDICATA (a matter already settled by judgment), it would be a collateral attack on the valid Orders and the petitioner would be suing the CJ who isn’t a party.

“Filing a case to relitigate the issue would be STRUCK OUT on 3 grounds. First, it would be RES JUDICATA (a matter already settled by judgment). Second, it would be a COLLATERAL ATTACK on the valid Orders. And third, the petitioner would be suing the CJ who isn’t a party ,”tweeted Miguna.

This comes after Maraga advised President Uhuru Kenyatta to dissolve Parliament for failing to implement the two-thirds gender rule.

However, some Senetors said that Article 216(6) requires an order to be issued before the clause(7) is invoked.

Controversial lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has eulogized his father-in-law Benson Omollo Awange as he returned back to exile in Canada after being denied access to his motherland Kenya.

On Tuesday afternoon, Miguana Miguna revealed that he had ”no option but to return to exile” after the government refused to allow him back following his deportation in 2018.

Miguna had planned to travel back to Kenya via German on January 7, 2020 but the government issued red alerts to all flights, making it impossible for him to fly.

Lufthansa blocked him from boarding their plane to Kenya. Later attempts to board an Air France jet to Nairobi ended the same way after he was ejected from the plane.

His lawyers led by John Khaminwa have on several occasions been in court over Miguna’s troubles.

The lawyers acquired a court order to compel the ministry of Interior to allow him back into the country but it was not honoured.

The lawyer had hoped that he would be together with his family tomorrow (Wednesday) for the burial of his father in law.

Miguna said he had decided to go back to Canada after the Immigration department declined to revoke the red alerts.

However, he decided to eulogize his father in law from exile.

“Because I will be in the air to forced exile in Toronto when the final rites of passage for my father-in-law will be conducted, here is my EULOGY, which will be read at the funeral tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Everyone is free to share, circulate and reproduce,” he posted.

Deputy President Dr William Ruto has told the government and its responsible officials that they will be held responsible for disobeying court orders.

Speaking in Olerai, Narok County, Ruto said disobedience of court orders was setting Kenya on the verge of sliding into anarchy and impunity.

This comes just a day after police officers at Kilimani police station refused to release Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria whose representatives had a court order demanding his release on a Ksh 50,000 bail.

The officers are said to have maintained that they were following orders from above.

Mr Kuria was later on Friday evening released on a Ksh 20,000 police bail.

However, that was not the first court order to have been ignored.

The resurging wave of disobedience to court orders is similar of actions by the national executive in the period leading to the 2017 general election and post the election when the government, in February 2018, deported opposition activist and lawyer Miguna Miguna despite the court having issued an order directing the State to produce him in court, “dead or alive”.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi, who alongside then Immigration Principal Secretary Gordon Kihalangwa, and former National Police Service Inspector General Joseph Boinnet were fined Sh200,000 each for contempt of court, later dismissed the orders accusing the court of dishing out verdicts to frustrate government.

Miguna, a self-proclaimed General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has since made three unsuccessful attempts to return to the country.

He was deported back to Canada in March after spending 72 hours at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, demanding to be allowed reentry on a Kenyan passport seized when he was initially deported in February.

Miguna’s third attempt to return to Kenya aborted on Tuesday, January 7 after two airlines declined to fly him to Nairobi over red alert advisories issued by the government.

This happened even after his lawyers led by Dr John Khaminwa acquired other court orders demanding the state to facilitate Miguna Miguna’s return.

The Kenyan government has finally revealed why embattled lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna is unable to travel back to Kenya after all court the orders he has acquired.

Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna says Miguna Miguna has declined to get proper documentation to travel to Kenya.

Oguna in a press statement released on Wednesday has told Miguna Miguna to obtain a Kenyan passport at any of the country’s missions.

Oguna says that International Civil Authority Organization (ICAO) requires all passengers to have valid travel documents, which Miguna has declined.

He says Kenyan missions abroad are free and willing to assist Miguna Miguna.

Oguna further noted that Miguna was categorized as an unruly passenger by ICAO following the drama he caused at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport during his first return attempt.

“His unruly behaviour was seen to have the potential of threatening category A1 status of JKIA which took the country a lot of effort and work to achieve,” he said.

He said as a result, in accordance with the Annex 17 of the Intentional Civil Authority Organisation, JKIA made recommendations that allow prohibition of unruly passengers.

“This category certifies that we have put in place all necessary safety and security measures in all our airports. This is an accomplishment that we are committed to jealously protect,” Oguna said.

Oguna said Miguna is free to enter Kenya once he gets his passport, but added that the lawyer has not made any effort to visit a Kenyan mission to obtain one.

He said he had been stopped by Lufthansa airline officials from boarding the flight to Nairobi, where he was scheduled to arrive at 9.25pm.

“I am at the Lufthansa check-in and they are saying the Kenyan security has blocked me from entering Kenya,” Miguna said, after the Kenyan Immigration Department had announced that it would honour a court order to facilitate Miguna’s entry.

He also claimed that the government had “demanded that Lufthansa should not fly me into any other African country, either”.

His trip back to Kenya was on Tuesday interrupted after Kenyan government issued a red alert barring him from travelling to any African country.

He was blocked from boarding a connecting flight to Nairobi from Germany.

The Kenyan government has spoken on claims by exiled lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna that it had issued a red alert that has barred him from travelling to any African Country.

Miguna on Monday morning claimed he has been barred from boarding a flight from Frankfurt Airport to Nairobi due to red alert issued by the government Kenya.

However, government spokesperson Cyrus Oguna says Miguna is free to travel back to Kenya on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s assurance.

Oguna said the Foreign Affairs ministry will handle the red alert issue.

President Kenyatta had earlier said that his government is keen on freedom of expression, and any Kenyan is free to enjoy the freedom.

The Immigration Department also on Monday said it will comply with a court order to facilitate the return of Miguna Miguna, who was deported in 2018, over the swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga following a repeat Presidential election in which President Kenyatta was declared the winner.

Miguna was deported for taking part in the swearing-in, and trying to mobilise Kenyans into a revolution, state officials said at the time.

In a statement issued soon after the High Court ordered government officials to ensure Miguna is facilitated, Immigration Department Director-General Alexander Muteshi said will not be barred.

“This is to confirm that in compliance with court orders issued on December 14, 2018, the Directorate will facilitate Dr Miguna’s entry into Kenya,” Muteshi said.

Exiled lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has been barred from boarding his plane to back to Kenya.

Miguna has been barred from leaving Berlin Airport following a red alert that was issued which bars him from travelling to any African country.

Miguna while speaking to Royal Media’s hot 96 said German authorities have been instructed not to allow him board flight to JKIA or any other African country.

“In fact, the Kenya Government has demanded that Lufthansa must refund my fare. They have demanded that Lufthansa should not fly me into any other African country, either,” he said.

“Lufthansa flight manager is saying that the Government of Kenya must send official communication to Lufthansa at Frankfurt office before I can be allowed to fly to Kenya or any other African country.”

Miguna was expected to land at JKIA at 9:25 pm today.

Exiled Lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna is crying foul after detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) allegedly seized and detained his vehicle illegally.

The self-declared general is now pleading with DCI director George Kinoti to release his vehicle.

According to Miguna Miguna, five heavily-armed Flying Squad officers who were disbanded to Sting Squad Headquarters seized his vehicle on Saturday at around 12:30 pm in Nairobi.

He says the vehicle was taken from Ferdinand Ogumah who has been operating it.

The controversial lawyer speculates that his vehicle might have been detained most likely to install surveillance devices.

“To @DCI_Kenya Kinoti: At around 12:30PM today, 5 heavily-armed Flying Squad officers now calling themselves “Special Service Unit” ILLEGALLY SEIZED my vehicle from @FerdinandOgumah in Nairobi and detained it, most likely to install SURVEILLANCE DEVICES. Release my vehicle! ” he posted.

This comes exactly three days to his home coming.

Miguna is set to return to Kenya from Canada on Tuesday January 7, 2020.

His plane is expected to land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at exactly 9:25 pm.

He was deported to Canada in 2018 after commissioning NASA leader Raila Odinga’s controversial swearing in ceremony at Uhuru Park.

The government argued that Miguna denounced his Kenyan citizenship in 1998.

The self-declared National Revolutionary Movement Kenya (NRMke) General on Thursday morning announced that his father in law Mzee Benson Omolo Awange passed suddenly in Migori Town, at around 12:30 a.m on January 2, 2020.

Miguna issued his heart-felt condolences to his mother in law, wife and the family of Mzee Benson.

“Mourning my father in law Mzee Benson Omolo Awange who passed suddenly in Migori Town, at around 12:30 a.m. on January 2, 2020. My heart-felt condolences to my mother in law, wife, Jane and Eunice, Ochieng’, Gwayo, Judy and Awuor. May your soul Rest In Eternal Peace,” he posted.

Miguna is set to make is third come back trial after the first two attempts turned dramatic.

He was dramatically deported to Canada last year after commissioning NASA leader Raila Odinga’s swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru park.

The government argued that Miguna had denounced his Kenyan citizenship in 1998.

He has been into exile for two years despite him acquiring court orders that reinstated his Kenyan citizenship.

He will be landing at JKIA on January 7, 2020 at 9:25 pm.

Exiled lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has issued his cry to ODM party leader Raila Odinga after court acquitted Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang of treason charges.

The High court on Wednesday acquitted TJ Kajwang of the charges saying the case against the lawmaker was politically instigated.

Mr Kajwang had been accused of illegally administering an unlawful oath to ODM party leader Raila Odinga on the 30th of January 2018 at Uhuru Park Nairobi.

Kajwang’ and Miguna Miguna were at the centre of events at Uhuru Park that culminated in the “swearing-in” of Mr Odinga as the ‘people’s president’.

During the ceremony, Mr Kajwang’ donned a lawyers’ robe and wig and received a thunderous welcome by Nasa supporters as Miguna Miguna played the commissioner of oaths role.

Miguna is now questioning Raila why he has also not been acquitted of the treason charges against him.

He further questions Raila why his Kenyan passport has not been returned to him, asking further why he has not been allowed into the country after being deported to Canada.

“How about me, The People’s Con-Man @RailaOdinga? Why have I not been allowed entry into the country so that I can deal with the treason charges against me? Why hasn’t my valid Kenyan passport been returned by your fake brother Despot Muigai Njee Meta Meta/Kenyatta? ” tweeted Miguna Miguna.

Miguna had on Tuesday promised Kenyans that his ‘revolutionary hammer’ would today (Wednesday) fall on DP Ruto.

In the video shared on his social media handles and you tube, Miguna says that he had spared Ruto during his regular attacks on Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta just because Ruto is a deputy.

While referring to Ruto as a deputy despot, Miguna alleges that DP’s controversies dates back in early 90’s when he joined KANU has his studies at the University of Nairobi.

He alleges that the DP alongside former presidential candidate Cyrus Jirongo became KANU’s vicious youth leaders back in 1992.

He accuses Ruto, who he claims they schooled together at UoN, of forgetting about his visionary Christianity to join KANU instead of looking for work to do.

He further alleges that Ruto alongside Jirongo started brutalising Kenyans and spread propaganda as the main language of the ruling party.

The controversial lawyer says that it is in 1992 when the two started looting and plundering the economy of Kenya.

Digging into Ruto’s personal life, Miguna alleges that the DP has a son with Akinyi Odinga, a sister to Raila.

He alleges that Ruto has 27 children withing two years, with him managing to have over 30 children between 2007 and 2012.

Controversial exiled lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has taken a swipe at Siaya Senator James for telling what Miguna claims to be lies during a live TV interview on Sunday night.

Orengo on Sunday evening had a live interview with K24’s Anne Kiguta on a show dubbed punchline.

During the interview, Anne Kiguta asked the senior counsel the reason as to why Raila Odinga-led ODM party had abandoned the exiled lawyer.

Orengo in his response affirmed that the opposition party had not abandoned Miguna Miguna.

The senior counsel said that NASA lawyers went all the way to Court of Appeal over Miguna’s deportation to Canada.

He further insisted that Miguna was not the first Kenyan to go into exile, citing that him alongside Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi, Koigi wa Wamwere and Makau Mutua have been through the same.

“That is not the case. Nasa lawyers went all the way to Court of Appeal. Many of us have been in exile: Kiraitu Murungi, Koigi wa Wamwere, Makau Mutua…. ” he said.

However, Miguna Miguna did not read from the same script as Orengo. He told him to stop peddling lies on a live TV, arguing that Kiraitu Murungi, Raila Odinga, Makau Mutua, Koigi Wamwere and Orengo never had their houses destroyed, holes punched into their passports, never detained without trial, sedated and forced out of Kenya then denied re-entry.

“Mr. @orengo_james: Stop your lies. @makaumutua, Kiraitu Murungi, @RailaOdinga, Koigi Wamwere and you never, ever had your houses destroyed, holes punched into your passports, you were never detained without trial, sedated and FORCED out of Kenya then denied re-entry,” he tweeted.

The party stated failure by the government to remit the political parties’ funds on time as the cause for its financial crisis.

However, exiled lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna seem not to have read from the same script as ODM.

Miguna is now claiming that the Orange party has been unable to pay rent at Orange house since last year.

According to the self-declared general, in December 2018, Caroli Omondi evicted Raila’s ODM from Orange House.

Miguna states that ODM begged him for an extension of the lease until March 2019 which came but the party failed to honor its pledge.

Miguna says that ODM cannot pay rent at Orange house up to now, accusing the party of getting used to theft and exploitation.

“In Dec. 2018, Caroli Omondi evicted Raila’s @TheODMparty from Orange House. ODM begged him for an extension of the lease until March 2019. March came and went but ODM which recently received Shs. 3 Billion public funds still can’t pay rent. They are used to theft & exploitation,” tweeted Miguna Miguna.

Orange House is the property of Caroli Omondi, who was once the principal administrative secretary in Mr Odinga’s prime minister’s office between 2008 and 2013.

ODM has been using the building since 2006, months after the party was formed.

Last year, ODM denied reports that it was being kicked out of Orange House, insisting that it was to leave out of mutual understanding.

The one-storey building, located in Nairobi’s Kilimani, is the base of ODM’s national secretariat.

Exiled controversial lawyer Dr Miguna Miguna has taken issue with ODM leader Raila Odinga for mourning the departed Kibra MP Ken Okoth.

Barely hours after the Kibra lawmaker’s death, Miguna Miguna has hit out at Raila, accusing him of looting during his tenure as an Lang’ata MP.

Miguna who has praised Ken Okoth for working hard to better the lives of Kibra people says Raila was doing the opposite.

He has gone ahead to expose the wealth he alleges Raila got using public funds. He has accused the AU envoy of building himself big hotels in Kisumu as Ken Okoth built schools and health centres for Kibra people.

Miguna has accused Raila of building Grand Royal Swiss Hotel in Kisumu with billions of public money he had allegedly stolen as Prime Minister.

He further accuses Raila of looting to build Nkandlas in Kisumu, which he argues that it is worth Ksh 2.5 billion.

The lawyer further accuses Raila of looting 11 billion of public money from Kazi Kwa Vijana and built himself a Taj Mahal and 3 five star hotels in Kisumu.

Miguna further says that Raila was an anti-Okoth crusader, alleging that he arranged to have him stoned in the run-up to the 2017 polls.

The former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant accused Raila of trying to use illegal ways to push Okoth out of the Kibera race in favour of his daughter Rosemary Odinga who was also eyeing the seat before she was taken ill.

The People’s Con-Man is shedding crocodile tears, like he always does. He viciously fought Ken Okoth and had him stoned in order to force Ken out of the Kibra race for his daughter, Rosemary. In less than ten years, Ken outperformed Raila’s 25 years of poverty and ineptitude.

He also observed that Okoth’s seven-year tenure outdid Raila’s 25 years when he represented the area when it was under the larger Langata constituency.
