So next time you feel tired at work or school, don’t reach for a caffeinated beverage, drink water. It’s good for your body and won’t damage your teeth like soda and other caffeinated beverages.
Soft drinks can ruin your tooth enamel and drinking plain carbonated water is a healthier alternative.
But if you find it difficult for you to quit drinking softdrinks, worry not because there are recommendations helpful in minimizing the negative effects.
1) Drink through a straw to keep the liquid from staying in your mouth.
2) After drinking soda, swish your mouth with water to dilute the acid and sugar.
3) Choose beverages that contain little sugar, sugar subsitutes but with added calcium.
4) Do not brush your teeth immediately. Wait for about half an hour or keep your normal dental routine.
5) Choose a toothpaste that contains calcium, fluoride and phosphate.
