Lech Poznań Demote Timothy Ouma to Reserve Team Over Disciplinary Issue

Polish giants Lech Poznań have demoted Harambee Stars midfielder Timothy Ouma to the club’s reserve team following a disciplinary breach, the club has confirmed.

Ouma was notably left out of Lech Poznań’s squad that travelled to Abu Dhabi for a mid-season training camp, with the club stating that the Kenyan international had “acted in a way that violated team rules.”

Speaking on the situation, head coach Niels Frederiksen revealed that the midfielder will remain in Poland and train with the reserves as the senior team continues preparations for the second half of the season.

“Timothy will stay behind and prepare for the spring season with the reserve team. His future at the club now depends solely on his performances,” Frederiksen said.

The decision represents a significant setback for Ouma, who had been pushing for a more prominent role in the first team after joining the Polish side. While the club has not disclosed specific details surrounding the disciplinary issue, the move signals Lech Poznań’s strict stance on player conduct.

Despite the demotion, the door has not been fully closed on the midfielder’s future at the club. Lech Poznań have made it clear that Ouma still has an opportunity to earn his way back into the senior squad through discipline, professionalism, and strong performances with the reserves.

For now, the focus shifts to how the Kenyan international responds to the setback — a moment that could prove pivotal in his European career and national team ambitions.
