Dennis Itumbi and Jacque Maribe

Kenyans witnessed an emotional and heartwarming scene in court as journalist Jacque Maribe was acquitted of murder charges in the Monica Kimani case.

The spotlight, however, shifted towards Dennis Itumbi, whose passionate reaction has since gone viral.

In a video capturing the moment, Itumbi can be seen tightly embracing Maribe just after Lady Justice Grace Nzioka announced the verdict of her acquittal.

The genuine display of joy and relief has resonated with many, as Itumbi took to his official X account to pen a heartfelt message for Maribe.

“Jacque Maribe is FREE! Maribe DID NOT kill Monica. Daaamn! I feel so vindicated!” Itumbi exclaimed in his post, shedding light on the six-year-long journey Maribe endured – a journey marked by shadows and unjust chains.

Itumbi’s message didn’t shy away from addressing what he referred to as a “rogue” DCI boss, George Kinoti, who allegedly used Maribe as a pawn in his pursuit of sensational headlines.

The post emphasized the truth’s brilliance, dispelling the darkness created by “Kinoti’s lies” and a scripted narrative aimed solely at media attention.

“Today, the truth has unveiled its brilliance, dispelling the darkness. The darkness of Kinoti lies and outright script aimed for Media headlines and nothing else,” Itumbi passionately wrote.

He likened Maribe to a phoenix, encouraging her to rise from the ashes, emphasizing that while time may have been lost, the essence of her being remains untouched.

Itumbi extended collective hands on behalf of friends, welcoming her back to the embrace of freedom.

In a show of unwavering support, Itumbi declared, “Let the record reflect that you have always been INNOCENT. The system failed you, and the rogue people who added you in this case just for headlines and creation of a circus should answer, and you must not let them walk out of the mess without questions.”

Acknowledging the pain Monica’s family endured, Itumbi expressed hopes for comfort to fill their hearts beyond the pursuit of justice.

To Jacqueline Maribe, he concluded with a powerful message, “There is a reason storms are named after women. Storms, like focused women, cannot be stopped. You are a lovely storm! Be blessed.”

Jowie and Jacque Maribe

Joshua Irungu, popularly known as Jowie, has been found guilty of the murder of Nairobi businesswoman Monica Kimani, a case that sent shockwaves through the community in 2018.

Lady Justice Grace Nzioka delivered the verdict, highlighting crucial details that led to Jowie’s conviction.

She emphasized that the prosecution successfully demonstrated that Jowie, a security personnel, committed the heinous crime.

Despite Jowie’s initial denial of any acquaintance with the deceased, the court, relying on the testimony of Kimani’s brother and cell phone records, concluded that Jowie did know Monica Kimani before her tragic death.

According to Kimani’s brother, they spent a night at Monica’s home on August 30, 2018.

The judge stated, “The 1st accused (Jowie Irungu) claimed he did not know the deceased at all. George Kimani, the deceased’s brother submitted that Jowie and Monica Kimani were in the same class in 2002 taking the same course in hotel and beverage management.”

The court invoked the Doctrine of Last Seen, agreeing with the prosecution’s evidence that Jowie was the last person seen with Monica Kimani before her demise. This legal doctrine assumes that the person last seen with the deceased is responsible for their death, placing the onus on the accused to provide an explanation.

Justice Nzioka further concurred with the prosecution’s assertion that Jowie used a firearm to intimidate Monica Kimani before her tragic death. Forensic evidence played a crucial role, establishing that the blood stains on Jowie’s shorts belonged to the businesswoman.

The court’s reliance on testimonies, cell phone records, and forensic evidence underscores the gravity of the situation.

The second accused, journalist Jacque Maribe has been acquitted and found not guilty of the murder of Monicah Kimani.

The court dropped the offense of misleading investigators on technicality that had been leveled against Maribe.

Lady Justice Nzioka cancelled Jowie’s bond and ordered that he remains in custody until March 8, when he will be sentenced.

So we met at Radio Africa in 2012. I was working at Radio Jambo and Jacque was working at Kiss TV. So one Random night after a Radio Africa Staff Party and after afew bottles of whiskey and wine glasses Jacque and I happened.

It was really a one night thing because she was dating KTN’s Sam Ogina at the time. WE USED PROTECTION!!! After two Months Jacque tells me she’s Pregnant!!! I immediately ask her how since we used Protection???

She then tells me “It doesn’t matter the mother always knows who the Father is and that I am the Father!!! During the entire Pregnancy nothing happened and we barely saw each other.

Roughly 4 months after the baby was born Jacque called me and asked me if I would help or be part of the baby’s life. I asked her for a DNA test so that I could comfortably be part of the baby’s life and SUPPORT fully.

She got very offended and Refused my request. For 7 seven years I have begged Jacque to allow us have a DNA Test and she has CONTINUALLY refused!!!

Idont mind supporting the child but if you want me to be FULLY PRESENT and SUPPORTIVE, if you Want me to be a FATHER. Then we have to do the RIGHT THING!!!!

Former State House Director of Digital Communications Dennis Itumbi has penned a moving poem to his long time ‘friend’ Jacque Maribe on her birthday.

In his poem, Itumbi has describe Maribe as a fire.

The poem reads;

Happy Birthday, Jacque Maribe,

You are a FIRE.

A Fire in your stage presence,

A Fire that has super hot flames,

Flames that keep them talking,

You are a Fire of beauty and sexy.

A Fire that sparks and sustains friendships,

A Fire, I gladly embrace and use to ink this poem,

A Fire that is so lovely to resist,

You are a Fire on top of a mountain,

Living life, couregously, powerfully and unapologetically

A Fire that refines your ore into Gold.

A Golden friend.

A Golden mum

A Golden trailblazer

So here an online hug, tight, endless and Forever.

Our Friendship, is our souls on Fire.

Burning the past into ashes, connecting us,

Soldering to the future, with the force of water down a waterfall…

Friends, planted right at the bull’s eye of our hearts, is what we are…

May you get endless Birthday kisses and triumphs…

You are a lovely FIRE..

I wish you Endless victory, may you warm our hearts.

Happy Birthday!

However, Kenyans on Twitter have jumped quickly on the poem to troll Itumbi.

They have hilariously reacted to the poem, some telling him off for bringing his private affairs with Maribe online. They argue that he should have send the poem to Maribe via her inbox.

Some argue that Itumbi has been chasing Maribe for a very long tie and it is now time he should consider giving up, with some arguing that comedian Eric Omondi had already won Maribe’s heart.

Here are some of the reactions.
