Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was on Sunday night clashed with a journalist on live TV.

Appearing in an interview with K24 TV’s Anne Kiguta on Punchline show, the two engaged in a heated interview after Kiguta started asking Babu Owino controversial questions.

Kiguta asked the controversial lawmaker that some parents had said he was a monster who shot someone pointblank and these tutorials are meant to hoodwink Kenyans, but Bbu Owino responded by saying that maybe just 1% of those who have responded say so.

The interview escalated after K24 replayed CCTV footage of the night Babu shot DJ Evolve at point blank at a city club.

After the CCTV footage was played, the visibly irritated MP declined to answer all questions touching on Dj Evolve saying the matter was in court and amounted to sub judice.

The interview had been scheduled to run for twenty five minutes ended up becoming a circus for at least 13 minutes as Babu constantly gave the same answer to Kiguta’s persistent questions on the shooting of DJ Evolve.

While Babu had in the past claimed that he had paid Dj Evolve’s bill, he declined to respond to the victim;s father who indidated that the family was still overwhelmed by their son’s medical bill.

After more than ten minutes of back and forth, Babu accused Kiguta of working for the DPP to trap him into making comments that would go beyond the terms of his bail.

“I think you were sent by the DPP to ask me these questions so that they can get an excuse for arresting me,” Babu said before the interview ended.

Interestingly, a video of the interview has since been pulled down by Youtube for allegedly breaching the terms of service.

A journalist working for mediamax has commited suicide in Nakuru citing the hard life that has been caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The body of the K24 journalist, George Kori , based in Molo was on Sunday May 24, 2020 found dangling on a tree at Gatura Farm in Elburgon.

Cash-strapped K24 has majorly cut on its human resource, firing journalists and news presenters citing financial difficulties with ongoing court cases of presenters protesting a move to cut on their salaries.

K24 television which is a major part of the Media Max company is now being handed a lifeline by Kenya’s KTN news that would see it be able to easily operate without a bulky human resource which will enable the company to cut on cost.

The lifeline being presented by KTN news is expected to be available to other media stations and partners and is expected to enable media houses to cut on the cost of content production.

K24 currently operates only with a handful of content providers after recurring job cuts which has already seen it suffer bad blood from the ex-employees in the manner it goes around firing.

Former State House Director of Digital and Diaspora Communication Dennis Itumbi has badly exposed renown political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi.

Mutahi Ngunyi had been earlier accused of scripting last Sunday’s Punchline show, a political talk show that airs every Sunday night on K24 Tv, hosted by Anne Kiguta.

In the show, Mutahi Ngunyi was the main guest, among several others.

During the show, a scathing attack was launched against Deputy President Dr William Ruto, with even the host declaring using facts, that the second in command will never be the President of Kenya.

Anne Kiguta, on behalf of K24 TV, stated that DP Ruto had no chance of becoming President in 2022.

She said K24 TV had made the prediction after observing the infighting for the control of Jubilee Party over the past week.

Kiguta said there was no doubt that President Uhuru Kenyatta had a fall out with his deputy who she accused of faking togetherness where there was none.

While reporting these events that have followed, we have often debated why the DP has stayed where he is clearly not wanted, why face the humiliation? why create the illusion that all is well while clearly, it’s not? why create the image of togetherness where there is none? How does it benefit the DP?

For many of DP’s allies is that they have mistakenly thought that they could force the President into the past days working together…we observe only way out for the DP and that its – stop fighting reality. Living in the real world as horrible as it is frees you to make decisions that can work in the present,” K24’s editorial continued as read out by Ms Kiguta.

However, Itumbi on the morning of Friday April 24, revealed that it was Mutahi Ngunyi who scripted the editorial piece that was read by Anne Kiguta.

Itumbi went ahead to reveal that it was indeed Mutahi Ngunyi who invited guests on the show. To prove this, Itumbi exposed private chats that Mutahi Ngunyi had with some of the guests on the show.

“Goodmorning my Friend @MutahiNgunyi – Be slow to DENY next time buddy. You not only scripted #Punchline for @AnneKiguta – You also invited guests to the show. #SystemYaFacts,” he tweeted.

On April 20, Mutahi Ngunyi had denied the allegations of scripting the editorial piece for K24 TV, arguing that the editorial had nothing but panashe.

“Hello my FREN @OleItumbi. I think @AnneKiguta Editorial on #Punchline had NOTHING but Panashe (google word). And thanks for SUGGESTING that I wrote it with my @5thestateKE gang. In the MEANTIME, read a BOOK my FREN! It makes a lot of DIFFERENCE! ” he posted.

By the time of publishing this article, Mutahi Ngunyi had not yet responded to Dennis Itumbi’s latest allegations.

Mediamax owned K24 Television news anchor Anjlee Ghadhvi is dead.

She succumbed to cancer on Friday while undergoing treatment at the Agha Khan University Hospital.

Ghadhvi was battling cancer of the lungs.

She was first diagnosed with liver cancer in early April 2014, when she was expecting her second child.

Ghadhvi underwent a liver transplant after the cancerous cells kept on recurring two years after she began chemotherapy.

K24 Television head of Digital and TV, Peter Opondo, has eulogised the late Anjlee as a committed person, who had nonpareil passion for the work she did.

“Oh my friend @AnjleeGadhvi, you fought that cancer beast with all your might. You did it for your kids, husband. Never lost hope. You always smiled through the pain and insisted on coming to work even at your weakest points. We believed you were winning…until now! RIP my friend,” tweeted Opondo.
