Celebrated news anchor Jane Ngoiri has left the Nation Media Group (NMG) owned NTV.

According to multiple reports, the experienced anchor resigned.

Reports indicate that she tendered her resignation on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

Confirming the reports while speaking to a local publisher, Ngoiri stated that she had resigned from NTV for her own reasons.

“It is true that I have resigned from NTV. I left for personal reasons,” she confirmed.

However, the journalist did not divulge more details on her decision to exit the station adding that she would be focusing on some personal projects.

Ngoiri, who served as a Senior Swahili News Anchor stated that she would disclose her next step to her fans over her social media profiles.

In December 2020, Ngoiri was among 158 civilians awarded the Head of State Commendation (HSc) by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In her initial stint at NTV, she co-anchored the Swahili news with Nimrod Taabu who switched to Citizen TV in 2019. She later co-anchored the Swahili news with Salim Swaleh.

Prior to working for NMG, Ngoiri worked at K24 as an English news anchor.

She has undertaken several investigative pieces that had gained traction online including Sisters of Death and Nairobi’s Bum Enhancers.

There have been several changes in media with a number of anchors calling it quits in the past month.

KBC anchor Samuel Njoroge resigned from KBC during a live broadcast on Thursday, January 28.

Earlier in January 2021, Grace Kuria announced her departure from Standard Media Group while hosting the station’s lunchtime bulletin.

She had served at the station for two years since joining in January 2019 after she was poached from K24 TV.

Tanasha Donna has responded to those trolling her over being snubbed by Bongo star Diamond Platinumz during a live performance.

Tanasha and Diamond were recently performing on stage when the Bongo star appeared to have ignored her kiss.

Due to this, as usual Kenyans never lack something to say for they had an opinion on exactly what happened .

This prompted the singer to react about the video after a fan reminded her of the incident on Instagram.

As it appears, the Gere hitmaker does not mind what people think and wants them to “have fun”

The short clip went viral on social media with many having different views as to what really happened between the two. This led to Khaligraph Jones’ wife,  to fiercely defend Tanasha from online trolls:

“It’s not fair at all” Well, Tanasha has finally shared her thoughts while replying to a fan who commented on her Instagram post where she posed for beautiful photos alongside her son Naseeb.

The fan named @tilesmombasa_, defended Tanasha saying the incident was misinterpreted as she was not trying to kiss the Bongo star but whisper something to his ear.

@tilesmombasa_ It is what it is. Let them have fun recreating the whole scenario,” she wrote.

However, she did not confirm if the fan was totally wrong or he did have the best idea of what really happened.

Her reaction showed she did not really care what people thought of the incident and was comfortable letting them create their own assumptions.

For a week now, we have been enslaved in Betty Kyallo’s world of suspense. But what is it Betty wants to show us? That has been the question in the minds of many Betty fans if you ask me.

After her divorce with journalist Dennis Okari, the beauty has been looking to live a life of happiness and growth in every second of her life.

Speaking of happiness, her daughter Ivanna, as I can argue out is the main trigger to her smile. Today, she got a certificate of her first day at school. Oh how happy Betty is.

With her daughter, Betty spends countless hours traveling around Kenya and spending her time in posh places as seen in her Instagram stories. But away from that now, what is the big thing in store?

Surprise! Surprise! Betty has just revealed the big secret. A new posh Barbershop! What an achievement for our beloved.

As stated in her IG moments ago, “Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you, AFTRERSHAVE BY FLAIR! A new Barbershop that is going to be a man’s Piece of Heaven! Upper hill we are finally here! Tonight I open the doors to this amazing location and I’m just so excited to finally share it with you! “

Who could be any happier for betty than her fans and family? Susan Kaittany and Sandra Dacha among others took it to social media congratulating her on achieving such a feat.

Growth in Betty’s life is so essential, to help her raise her child as a single mum and contribute largely to her extended family.

Personally, it gives her a sense of strength, having gone through difficult times in the past. Just to mention, the trouble of conflict between her and her various employers, the heart break from her divorce, the fear of losing beautiful Ivanna to a deadly disease… I mean, more could be said about Betty’s painful past, but as for now, the mood is elated at this new adventure she’s jumped into.

This accomplishment however does not mark the end of her quest to living a really successful life. As we all know Betty is at the paciest, strongest and hungriest point in her entire life.

She is set to crowd the plate in the barter’s box and prove to everyone she’s been bringing that flair since 89’, as she likes to mention in her posts.

From The Posh Place, to Flair by Betty in Rose Avenue, Kilimani, to Aftershave by Flair, we can’t get enough of Becky, and sure as anything else she is not just about to stop.

As characterized by Betty, joy and belief in yourself plays a big role in overcoming your past, by simply creating a new future. However, the most important detail in all this is the fear and adoration of God, as she always says.

Nigerian music sensation Yemi Alade is officially off the market, or maybe not.

This is the hot debate currently going on in online chat forums with confusion reigning.

This is after Alade posted pictures of what looked like a traditional wedding between her and fellow singer and music producer Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie popularly known as Patoranking.

The photos capture the happy couple dressed in similar colors surrounded by friends and family members.

Patoranking also posted the pictures on his social media pages with the caption “Mon bebe,” which received a sweet response from Alade, who said “I’m glowing when I am with you.”

Alade and Patoranking were congratulated by colleagues in the entertainment industry even as a section of their fans expressed pessimism over whether the two had really tied the knot.

Many of their fans argued that it was a publicity stunt for a soon to be launched collabo.

If you thought Tanzanian songster Diamond Platinumz only has a child with one Kenyan woman, then you are wrong.

Diamond is believed to have dated women from almost all the East African countries, having sire children with Uganda’s Zari Hassan, Kenya’s Tanasha Dona and Hamisa Mobeto from Tanzania.

Surprisingly, another Kenyan lady is trying to add herself on the already long list.

In 2017, a video surfaced of an Eldoret woman claiming the Tanzanian Singer is the father of her daughter.

She claimed that she met Diamond in Eldoret in 2014.

“I became friends with Diamond Platnumz in 2011 on Facebook. By then, I was working in Saudi Arabia. We met on Facebook and met three years later. He had a show at Sports Club, Eldoret, Kenya, and we had a one-night stand. We didn’t use protection and he gave me Sh50,000,” she said.

The 39-Year-Old mother of two further claimed that she travelled all the way from Eldoret to Tandale, hoping that Diamond Platnumz would accept him and take responsibility for their child.

She, however, met the singer’s mother who chased her away, saying her son would never bed a woman like her.

Responding to the woman’s claims, mama Dangote dismissed her as insane.

“Huyo dem ni chizi. Ashakuja hadi nyumbani kwangu,” she said during a phone call interview with Ubuyu.

But today, another video of the same lady stuck at a Likoni police station has yet again emerged after efforts to reach him failed.

The woman who has now been identified Elizabeth Nafula from Eldoret is still claiming to have been impregnated by Diamond Platinum.

The video posted on Instagram by Radio Maisha’s Billy Miya showed the woman stranded at the Likoni police station after efforts to reach Diamond Platinumz failed.

She claimed she was a receptionist at 64 Resort and Restaurant in 2016 where Diamond vibed her and the one night stand resulted into a bouncing baby girl.

She has stayed with Dimond’s mother Sandra for sometime now but never managed to see Diamond.

Tanasha left Tanzania with her son Naseeb Junior when he was barely six months and Diamond never saw the child until Last week.

The mother of one and her baby daddy seem to have rekindled their love and they partied together on Saturday night.

A video of them dancing and performing their Gere collabo has gone viral, igniting mixed reactions.

The former couples thrilled fans and audiences last night when they performed their hit single ‘Gere’ on stage.

The performance was at the Wasafi’s Tumewasha Festival left fans with no doubt in their minds that the two still have chemisty.

It doesn’t help that Diamond’s brother Romy Jones let it slip that Tanasha woke up in Diamond’s arms and bed.

Romy Jones took to the comment section and asked why Esma did not also post the photo of Tanasha making the bed.

Diamond shared photos with his fourth child Naseeb Junior, and his fans were mesmerised by their uncanny resemblance.

The singer’s mother Sandra Kassim aka Mama Dangote shared a photo of him and his son and captioned it,

Award-winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o on Friday, January 22 came under a heavy attack from a section of Kenyans on Twitter after she responded to Tourism CS Najib Balala’s claims that she has been inaccessible for the past five years.

Balala had responded to criticism from Kenyans that the ministry had ignored Kenyan celebrities by choosing foreigners as its ambassadors.

This was after Balala announced international model Naomi Campbell as the Magical Kenya ambassador.

The Hollywood actress  went on to  respond hours after Najib defended the ministry’s decision to pick British supermodel Naomi Campbell as the tourism ambassador.

“I know everybody is asking why not Lupita. Lupita has commitments and her managers cannot allow us to access her. We’ve spent the last five years looking for Lupita,” Balala said.

The CS Thursday faulted people who have castigated the ministry for failing to appoint a Kenyan to the post, saying they make appointments while targeting specific markets.

According to him, Campbell offered her services to Kenya for free.

“We have a framework to work around her and she accepted to do it for free. She offered herself because of her love and commitment to Kenya. We are now working on the details on how do we use her to promote the destination,”  Balala said.

On Twitter, Lupita hash-tagged her response to the Ministry of Tourism saying she was available, #Imrightherebaby #alternativefacts accompanied with a picture of her laughing ironically.

“Me when I hear the Kenyan Ministry of Tourism has been looking for me for fives years,” she captioned her tweet.

Her comment attracted mixed reactions from all over the world. Here are a few;

Perhaps Lupita was not keen on taking the job? Also, saying Balala should have called her dad makes me wonder…is she 12? She’s a grown woman, well able to decide what calls to take.

Pia…if she’d taken this job there’d still have been things to say to discredit her, no?

— Kambua (@Kambua) January 22, 2021

Lupita has answered Tunajibu. If you’re going to pick a fight with the People of Seme, first ask Jo Gem what they saw in Kambare in 1906.

— Gabriel Oguda (@gabrieloguda) January 22, 2021

If you truly are proud of your Kenyan roots then no one will have to look for you. Everything would happen naturally. You’ve shown no appreciation for your Kenyan fans either. Continue sneaking in to the country which you’ve hardly visited since blowing up.

— Kiigen K. Koech (@KiigenKoech) January 22, 2021

Apparently, it’s easier to acces Trump than to access you!

— Tony Olaka (@TonyOlaka) January 22, 2021

This Lupita story is one more reason why I’d never defend anything the govt says.

— Agent Aminu. (@NI_Mensah) January 22, 2021

We don’t need you now, we got Naomi 😂

— Kargo 🇰🇪🇰🇪 (@DK_Kago) January 22, 2021

Its worth the laugh…pick up the phone and call Kisumu county CEO…hey we want your daughter here tomorrow, and it’s done

— Myles Castrol junior (@MylesNjagiN) January 22, 2021

Kusema ukweli, since winning the Oscar, there is a perception of aloofness from many Kenyans. Not to mention the stories of your security team roughing up ordinary locals. This has left many of your fans disappointed.

Kenyan award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o has finally spoken on claims that the government’s ministry of tourism has been unsuccessfully been trying to reach her for the past 5 years for an ambassadorial role.

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala defended the recent appointment of supermodel Naomi Campbell as Magical Kenya’s international ambassador, saying the appointment is set to market Kenya through the model’s international networks.

Balala said this as he faulted people who have castigated the ministry for failing to appoint a Kenyan in the position, saying the ministry makes the appointments while targeting specific markets.

On the question of the suitability of multiple award-winning Kenyan Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong’o for the role, Balala said his ministry had unsuccessfully tried to get in touch with Ms Nyong’o for five years now.

“I know everybody is asking why not Lupita. Lupita has commitments and her managers cannot allow us to access her. We’ve spent the last five years looking for Lupita,” Mr Balala said.

The CS was speaking during the issuance of certificates to some 60 researchers who did studies on the impacts of Covid-19 on travel and tourism industry in Kenya last year, at the Kenyatta University.

However, while responding to Balala’s claims, Lupita laughed off, indicating that she was very much accessible, and that there is no any government ministry that had tried to reach her.

“Me when I hear the Kenyan Ministry of Tourism has been looking for me for fives years. #Imrightherebaby #alternativefacts,” she tweeted.

Lupita’s post stirred mixed reactions, with netizens joining her in castigating Balala for making the ‘false’ claims.

A section of netizens argued that African politicians have a norm of embarrassing themselves.

Some claimed that Lupita’s father, Governor Anyang Nyong’o is easily accessible, and that the ministry could have reached her through the father instead.

Instagramers of late including celebrities have been revealing their life stories using a Q&A function on Instagram.

Milly Wa Jesus joined this bandwagon and described her first sexual experience with an ex-lover as “embarrassing”.

Milly who is married to Kabi Wa Jesus admitted that she had a lover before she met her hubby.

“You broke your virginity before meeting Kabi?” one fan posted.

Milly responded saying.

Milly answered, “With my husband Kabi wa Jesus, yes.”

Nevertheless, her fans were just asking everything they could think of, a curious fan asked,

Controversial singer Esther Akoth popularly known as Akothee has slammed African women, over what she has termed as being jealous of each other.

This could be us African women in Africa 22 ,but the witchcraft on this streets will not allow another woman support women seat to bring change , all they see is competition . These are Women girls are in competition . And nobody should insult me since I have not mentioned anyone. I am not talking to you.”

The year-old TV47 is undoubtedly Kenya’s fastest growing television station, with a large pool of young journalism talents that are yet to fully catch the eye of the Kenyan audience.

Despite this, the TV’s sports desk lead man is one to keep an eye on; as the station grows so he is.
Little is known of Julius Jumah alias Mlavidavi, a sports anchor and reporter whose command for both English and Swahili leaves the audience wowed.

Mlavidavi who is less than a year old at the Parklands based media house, is slowly carving a niche for himself as Kenya’s television king of piece to camera(PTC).

With his free flowing Swahili, former radio football commentator often finds a way to play with his words, an attribute that has made the station’s sports news a joy to watch.

Is the famous Gengetone music group Sailors Gang coming to an end?

Just late last year, Media personality Mwalimu Rachel issued a statement indicating that she would no longer be booking Gengetone artistes Sailors for any gigs.

In a post shared on her Instagram in November last year, Mwalimu Rachel said she will instead focus on introducing new talents through her company MRX Media.

According to the radio presenter, her company had overseen the growth of the group from onscurity to their current nationwide popularity.

Rachel went on to add that she was pleased with the work her team at MRX did to grow the Sailors brand.

And just a few months later, one of the members of the music group has announced that he was leaving the group to join the Gospel industry.

In an emotional message on his Instagram page, Lexxy Yung has announced that he will be seeking salvation in the gospel industry.

Lexxy however maintained that there was no love lost with the other group members who include Miracle Baby, Shalkido African Boy, Qoqosjuma and Masilver.

“Am sorry mabro for this..And it’s with many tears Bana ..tumekuwa pamoja have done alot and achieve alot mih l wish you all best in your journey.Mih nmeamua to take on gospel industry promise sitawainamisha uko. And promise to always have your backs GOSPEL ARTISTS HERE I COME,” Lexxy Yung posted.

Last year, Mwalimu Rachel also emotionally responded to accusations of denying Sailors their YouTube channel, which had all their previous songs and millions of video views.

The Wamlambez hit makers revealed that she had demanded more than Sh1.5 million from the group before she could release the passwords, an allegation she did not deny, saying the group and their current handlers needed to pay her for her input in building and popularising their brand.

The media personality discovered the Sailors and was their manager for over two years before they fell out last year and the group found a new record label.

After a seven-year hiatus characterized by allegations of high handedness and corruption, the 2020 Kisima Film and Music Awards was finally held on Sunday 13th December at the Sarit Expo Center in Westlands.

The organizers had promised a flawless process that embraced a pan African outlook adding film categories to their repertoire thus it was a no brainer when ‘clean’ content champions Kenya film and classification board (KFCB) sponsored the rejuvenated Awards.

According to Dr Ezekiel Mutua, the partnership with KISIMA was a perfect nexus with their ‘Sinema mashinani’ initiative. Further, they had agreed to partner in nurturing raw talent with emphasis on ‘clean’ content.

It came as a shock however when Genge tone group Mbogi Genje were nominated and even more shocking when the group won best group award beating Kenya’s favourite boy band Sautisol.

KFCB CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua. Photo/Courtesy

A clearly disappointed Dr Ezekiel Mutua, took to his social media platforms to distance himself from the Mbogi Genje win; ’While I support the public’s right to choice and vote, it was my understanding that by sponsoring this Awards, KFCB’s clean content mandate would be upheld. Dr Mutua added that he has nothing personal against the new school rap group but is against people sanitizing vulgarity.

‘’We stand on the pedestal of promoting clean content, and we shall remain focused, morality cannot be traded as art “He added.

Photo/Courtesy.

Zamaradi Media’s Dream Child Film scooped the clean content award in tandem with efforts to promote child friendly content and to encourage compliance with content regulations and procedures including adherence to film licensing and classification guidelines.

The clean content award winner received a Ksh 1,000,000 award from KFCB.
Dream Child was nominated in five categories including Best feature film, Best lead actor, Best supporting actor and Best supporting actress.
Kenya Film Classification board had sponsored the award with an agreement that artistes with clean content, rooted in the African story and those that promote clean morals would be feted.

Just recently, Dr Mutua at a press conference pleaded with creatives to desist from corrupting young minds with vulgar content. Kenya Film and Classification Board had sponsored the Kisima awards to the tune of Ksh 5,000,000.

The awards were also attended by Devolution CS, Eugene Wamalwa and former Nairobi Town clerk Philip Kisia.
CS Wamalwa also supported KFCB’s drive for clean content while awarding the cash prize.
