We are a very peculiar people. A majority of us knew Kelvin Kiptum after he broke the world record. But Eliud Kipchoge knew him well, and even predicted that he would break the world record.

This attempt to create enmity between Eliud or his associates with Kiptum is most unfortunate. I say so because the only grounds those peddling such a narrative have is that Eliud did not “congratulate” Kiptum upon him breaking Eliud’s record. But is this true? Of course not. Eliud congratulated Kiptum when the talented Marathoner won the London Marathon.

However, he didn’t offer congratulations through a post on social media. He did that in an interview. And in an interview before, Eliud said that Kiptum was most likely to break his record. He described Kiptum not only as talented but also as a person with a big heart.

After Kiptum broke Eliud’s record, Eliud again in a press conference showered accolades on the young talent. He had spotted Kiptum much earlier, seen his potential and tipped him for greatness.

The way he described Kiptum shows that he was not only following his journey closely but was also his fan and cheerleader Every year, there are more than 6 world major marathons staged.

Kipchoge as a rule does not do more than 3 races in a year. His record can be broken in any of these races. How exactly can he prevent people from running and attempting to break his records?

It’s a very painful and emotional moment losing Kiptum. It was like a story that had just begun, and then death tore the pages away

As we mourn this hero, let us not create enmity where we have no evidence that it exists. Let us not be careless with people’s reputations, for likes on social media. Today it will be Eliud, tomorrow it might be you.

The macabre killing of a young woman at an Airbnb in Nairobi continues to send shockwaves across the country.

Mutilated body parts of a 24-year-old woman were found stashed at a dustbin in Roysambu on Sunday, January 14. This was just a day after she checked into a rented apartment with an unidentified man, believed to be a Nigerian.

The woman, who has been identified by her family, was lured to her death through Instagram, with the guy promising her a good time.

Kenyans have taken to social media to not only grief the untimely demise of the university student but also to ask why Nigerian criminals are allowed to roam Nairobi carefree.

Roysambu, coincidentally the scene of the macabre killing, is a hotspot for Nigerian men, who spent their time committing online crimes and having good times with young Kenyan women.

The Roysambu murder is not the first crime to be linked to a Nigerian man. Former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i is on record questioning the presence of Nigerian men in Kenya.

In 2019, Matiang’i accused Nigerian men of confusing Kenyan girls to marry them.

“Drug dealers have come to Nairobi and they have confused our girls. They live with them and when police come to arrest them (drug dealers), they claim they are married to a Kenyan,” the no-nonsense CS said at the time.

Matiang’i led a crackdown on illegal immigrants, deporting hundreds of West Africans who were allegedly engaging in crime in Nairobi.

In a chilling revelation, Police have learned that the tragic demise of a 24-year-old university student at an Airbnb in Roysambu was orchestrated through Instagram.

Exclusive information obtained by Dailytrends unveils the gruesome details of the incident.

The lifeless and mutilated remains of the young woman were discovered inside a dustbin on a fateful Sunday morning, just a day after she had checked into the apartment accompanied by an unidentified man.

Sources indicate that the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed due to ongoing investigations and at the request of her grieving family, exclusively communicated with her assailant through Instagram. The assailant deliberately withheld other contact details, seemingly aware of the sinister nature of his motives.

Details extracted from the private conversations, which we are bound not to disclose online, suggest that the victim was enticed from her home in Syokimau to TRM along Thika Road on a Saturday evening. The assailant, assuring her of a pleasant time, persuaded her to rendezvous at the bus stage in TRM.

Expressing skepticism at one point, the victim questioned the true intentions of her conversant, explicitly asking, ‘Do you want to kill me?’ The assailant vehemently reassured her that his sole purpose was to share a good time.

Departing from home on Saturday afternoon, the young woman informed her parents that she was meeting her cousin. Throughout her journey from Mombasa Road to Thika Road, she provided regular updates to her ominous counterpart.

The unidentified assailant directed her to await him at the TRM stage, specifying his attire for easy identification. Their meeting point marked the beginning of a tragic sequence, leading to their check-in at a pre-booked Airbnb.

The man, believed to be of West African origin, made the reservation using an Airtel number registered to a woman. Despite being captured on CCTV, he managed to conceal his identity with a cap and sunglasses.

Law enforcement suspects that he may have drugged the young lady, engaged in sexual assault, and subsequently dismembered her body using a hacksaw.

The discarded body parts were callously disposed of in a nearby dustbin, while he absconded with the victim’s head. The police are currently working diligently to ascertain the identity of the perpetrator.

Under the blazing sun of Cameroon, on a field teeming with dreams and national pride, a curious twist unfolded. Fabrice Ondoa, gloves firmly grasped, stood tall as Cameroon’s guardian in their AFCON opener against Guinea. His cousin, Andre Onana, Manchester United’s coveted shot-stopper, watched from the sidelines, a silent sentinel in a family’s unfolding drama.

Their story, however, transcends the confines of a single match. It’s a tapestry woven from the threads of kinship, forged in the crucible of the Samuel Eto’o Academy, and embroidered with the triumphs and tribulations of two careers chasing the same elusive dream.

Born just a year apart, Ondoa and Onana were practically inseparable. Kicking a ball around the dusty streets of Douala, their laughter echoed with the carefree abandon of youth. Fate, it seemed, had a grand plan for these two. They found themselves, not by design, but by destiny, at the famed Eto’o Academy, a breeding ground for Cameroonian footballing talent.

Eto’o, their idol, became their mentor, instilling in them the values of discipline, dedication, and the unwavering belief in their own abilities. On the academy’s verdant fields, their bond deepened, fueled by a shared passion and the healthy rivalry that comes with being family. They pushed each other, honing their skills, their saves becoming a blur of reflexes and athleticism.

As their teenage years melted away, their paths diverged. Ondoa, the elder by a year, was the first to take flight. He landed at Gimnàstic de Tarragona in Spain, then Sevilla, etching his name onto the La Liga landscape. Onana, meanwhile, embarked on a Dutch odyssey, his talent blossoming at Ajax, where his heroics in the Champions League catapulted him to stardom.

Their national team call-ups followed, painting their faces with the green, red, and yellow of Cameroon. They stood shoulder-to-shoulder, representing their nation, their shared history whispering in the wind that rustled through the Indomitable Lions’ mane. The AFCON, the continent’s grand footballing spectacle, beckoned, promising a stage where their individual narratives could intertwine with the collective heartbeat of Cameroon.

And then came the surprise. Ondoa, the seasoned veteran, the familiar face, started against Guinea. Onana, the prodigal son, the heir apparent, watched on. Was it a mere tactical decision, a coach’s calculated gamble, or a deeper story unfolding?

Only time will tell. But one thing is certain: their bond, forged in the fires of childhood and nurtured by the shared pursuit of excellence, transcends the white lines of a football pitch. They are not just teammates, not just rivals, but family, their destinies forever intertwined in the beautiful game.

As the AFCON unfolds, the world watches with bated breath. Will Ondoa hold fort, or will Onana reclaim his mantle? Who will wear the hero’s crown, who will taste the bitter pill of disappointment? In the grand theatre of African football, their story continues, a testament to the power of dreams, the unwavering spirit of family, and the captivating drama that unfolds when talent and fate collide.

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has set tongues wagging on social media with his public courting of famous KoX dentist Branice Munyasa.

Dr. Branice is the founder and proprietor of Nextcare Dental, a premium dental clinic that prides itself on providing a pleasant and comfortable experience to its clients.

However, it is not just her profession, that has elevated her to one of the most influential figures on X (formerly Twitter). Branice has a talent for making native African cuisines, which is perhaps inspired by her ‘Mjengo’ appetite. In the era of pizza and burgers, boiled hooves and ugali is an elite meal.

An alumnus of The University of Nairobi, Branice is among the few women who have attracted a huge following on KoX, without using the conventional way of sharing thirst traps.

Apart from her excellent cooking, she is also a fitness maniac, who covers 30 KM in three hours. She participated in the 2023 Stanchart Marathon.

On Twitter, her fans simply refer to her as ‘Daktari’ or ‘Daktari wa meno’ a recognition of her profession in the medical industry.

The fact that she keeps her personal life off social media, and only discusses medicine, food, and fitness has given some of her followers hope that she could be available for dating.

Social media bigwigs have not hidden their intentions, some of them like Osama Otero cannot go an hour without mentioning Daktari. The problem with Osama is that he is a low-life self-proclaimed chair of the Kenya Tuktuk community. I wonder if he can manage a morning marathon, especially with a fitness enthusiast like Daktari Munyasa.

Khalwale Joins the Race

Among Dr. Branice Munyasa’s biggest cheerleaders is Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale. Since realizing that Branice comes from Kakamega County, Khalwale has been publicly asking to meet her.

It seems Khalwale is so love-smitten that he has turned on the notifications on Branice Munyasa’s account. For the past two days, the former Ikolomani MP has been interacting with Branice immediately after she shares any post.

Recently, he asked her if she would want him to organize a medical camp at her former Primary School. According to Khalwale, this will be a way for Branice to give back to a community she cares very much. The doctor has never shied away from talking about her humble beginnings and how her community contributed a lot to her education.

But that is not all, Khalwale has moved from wanting to organize a medical camp to asking Branice to meet and talk to his daughter because he just likes her story. Truth be said, Dr. Munyasa’s journey to the top is nothing but inspirational. But could Khalwale have more ulterior motives?

We are talking about a very proud polygamist who has sired more KCPE and KCSE candidates than anyone else we know.

In the dynamic landscape of instant messaging, WhatsApp stands tall as one of the most popular platforms, connecting billions of users worldwide. However, a WhatsApp ban can quickly turn your digital world upside down. In this article, we delve into the reasons behind a WhatsApp ban, shedding light on potential pitfalls and offering effective solutions to get yourself back on the messaging grid.

Why the Banhammer Falls:

  1. Violating WhatsApp Terms of Service: WhatsApp’s Terms of Service are not just a formality. Violating these guidelines, whether intentionally or inadvertently, can lead to a ban. Common breaches include sending spam, using automated messaging, or engaging in suspicious activities.
  2. Unauthorized Third-Party Apps: WhatsApp takes user privacy seriously, and using unofficial or modified versions of the app can result in a ban. These third-party apps may compromise your data security, triggering WhatsApp’s banhammer.
  3. Mass Reporting and Misuse: If a significant number of users report your account for spam, harassment, or other violations, WhatsApp may suspend your account pending investigation. It’s crucial to use the platform responsibly to avoid being on the receiving end of mass reports.
  4. Suspicious Activity and Security Concerns: Unusual account behavior, such as rapid changes in phone numbers or frequent login attempts, can trigger security protocols leading to a ban. This is WhatsApp’s way of safeguarding user accounts from potential threats.

Getting Unbanned – A Ray of Hope:

  1. Acknowledge and Rectify: If you’ve been banned, the first step is to acknowledge the violation and rectify it. Review WhatsApp’s Terms of Service and cease any activities that may have led to the ban. Correcting the issue at its root is essential for a successful appeal.
  2. Contact WhatsApp Support: WhatsApp provides users with the opportunity to appeal bans. Visit the official WhatsApp support page, submit your appeal, and provide relevant details. Timely and accurate information can expedite the review process.
  3. Use the In-App Support Feature: WhatsApp has an in-app support feature that allows you to contact support directly from the app. This can be a quicker way to reach out and resolve the issue.
  4. Wait Patiently: While waiting for your ban to be lifted can be frustrating, exercising patience is crucial. The review process takes time, and bombarding WhatsApp with repeated appeals may not yield favorable results

Conclusion:

A WhatsApp ban can be a formidable roadblock in your digital journey, but understanding the reasons behind it and taking appropriate actions can pave the way to redemption. Stay informed, abide by the rules, and, if the unfortunate happens, follow the right steps to get back to connecting with friends and family on the world’s most popular messaging platform.

On Monday, January 8th, 2024, Kenyan President William Ruto returned to his alma mater, Kamagut Primary School in Uasin Gishu County. The visit, marked by photos shared by Ruto’s handlers, painted a stark picture of a school in dire need of renovation. The building housing kindergarten children, the same one Ruto occupied over 40 years ago, stood as a testament to years of neglect.

This visit comes amidst Ruto’s ongoing political battle with his rival, Raila Odinga, whom he has severally branded the “Lord of Poverty.” Yet, the state of Kamagut Primary raises a critical question: could the real “Lord of Poverty” be closer to home?

Ruto’s political career spans over two decades, marked by positions of considerable power and influence. He served as an MP, KANU Secretary General, Cabinet Minister, and Deputy President before assuming the presidency in 2022. Throughout his ascent, Kamagut Primary, the very source of his educational foundation, remained in a state of dilapidation.

This begs the question: if someone with Ruto’s resources and political clout couldn’t prioritize the improvement of his own alma mater, how can Kenyans trust him to tackle the broader issue of poverty across the nation?

Furthermore, Ruto’s campaign promises centered around uplifting “Kenyan Hustlers” through initiatives like affordable housing. However, the neglect of Kamagut Primary casts doubt on his ability to deliver on these promises. If basic needs like quality education remain unaddressed in his childhood community, how can Kenyans expect him to effectively address the struggles of millions across the country?

Ruto’s supporters might argue that his recent visit signals a commitment to change. However, the timing, coinciding with a renewed attack on Odinga, raises suspicions of political maneuvering rather than genuine concern for the school’s well-being.

The story of Kamagut Primary transcends a single school. It serves as a powerful symbol of the challenges faced by Kenyan education and exposes the potential hypocrisy of Ruto’s “Lord of Poverty” narrative. Until concrete action is taken to address the needs of Kamagut Primary and countless other schools like it, Ruto’s claims of fighting poverty will ring hollow.

The Kenyan people deserve leaders who prioritize the well-being of their communities, not just political point-scoring. The state of Kamagut Primary serves as a stark reminder that true commitment to alleviating poverty requires action, not just rhetoric. Only time will tell if President Ruto will rise to the challenge and prove his critics wrong.

The brutal murder of Starlet Wahu Mwangi, younger sister of controversial televangelist Pastor Victor Kanyari, has ignited a firestorm of emotions and exposed unsettling questions about her vibrant life, the alleged killer, and a possible pattern of similar targeting.

Kanyari, known for his flamboyant preaching and often-scathing pronouncements, has emerged as a fierce defender of his sister’s character. He publicly refuted accusations that her lifestyle – characterized by social media flamboyance and rumored connections to wealthy businessmen – contributed to her death.

“My sister,” Kanyari declared in a tearful address, “chose her path. She wasn’t born into a life of glitz and glamour. She had dreams, talents, and the right to pursue them as she saw fit. To judge her for her choices, to blame her for becoming a target, is to deny her very humanity.”

The suspect, John Matara, remains in police custody awaiting trial. Initial reports portrayed him as a lone perpetrator, driven by a personal vendetta against Wahu. However, new information paints a potentially disturbing picture.

Three women, speaking on condition of anonymity, have come forward with eerily similar stories. Like Wahu, they too enjoyed a life of relative affluence and online visibility. Each had encountered Matara, describing him as charming but manipulative, preying on their vulnerabilities and financial needs. One even claimed an attempted assault before narrowly escaping.

“He knew how to play us,” shared one woman, her voice trembling. “He’d shower us with compliments, promises of opportunities, then slowly isolate us, making us dependent on him. It was like walking on eggshells.”

Police are now investigating these claims, scrutinizing Matara’s past for any connections to other unsolved cases involving young women with similar profiles. Could he be part of a larger, predatory network operating discreetly within Kenya’s social circles?

Kanyari’s unwavering defense of his sister transcends personal grief. It’s a battle cry against victim blaming, demanding empathy and understanding for choices that don’t conform to societal norms. His plea is both personal and political, pushing for justice not just for Wahu, but for all women vulnerable to exploitation and violence.
