Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition allied leaders have expressed their confidence ahead of the election petition that will be filed at the Supreme Court on Monday.

The Azimio allies drawn from the Western Kenya region have maintained that they will fight until their presidential candidate Raila Odinga becomes the 5th president of Kenya.

The coalition is set to challenge the election of William Ruto who was declared the president-elect in the just concluded General election.

While condoling with the family of Nairobi senator elect Edwin Sifuna who lost his grandmother Lukelesia Nafula Sifuna, Godfrey Osotsi, the senator elect for Vihiga County on ODM party ticket said that they have gathered enough evidence which they will use against the Kenya Kwanza team.

Osotsi went ahead to ask for electoral justice saying that the voters’ decisions must be respected.

He faulted the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati for going against the will of the people.

“It cannot be always that when Kenyans demonstrate their democratic right by voting, some few individuals like Chebukati ends up deciding for them who to be their president and that’s why we as AZIMIO One Kenya we are going to seek for a solution constitutionally to tackle those who were involved in this malicious act,” he said.

He went ahead to call out the president elect for going against the law by accepting  other political parties from AZIMIO One Kenya  to join Kenya Kwanza saying that he is manipulating them with money to join him and so risking losing  their seats according to the political parties act that says that they are not supposed to do so.

“I want to tell the deputy president to slow down, he is yet to be the president and he might not be because I believe that the Supreme Court is going to nullify it. We have enough evidence to show that the tallying process was corrupt and so where we stand as a country, we are yet to know who the president is,” he said.

His sentiments were echoed by Edwin Sifuna who said that the decision now lies in the hands of the supreme court and as AZIMIO One Kenya, they have prepared adequately and they are sure that justice will prevail.

Amani National Congress (ANC) nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has said that Musalia Mudavadi’s term as ANC boss expires Monday, June 15.

The lawmaker has demanded that the party conducts grassroot polls to elect new officials.

Osotsi’s claims comes amid drama being witnessed in Ford Kenya party.

The Office of Registrar of Political Parties on Monday June 8 gazetted intended changes in Ford Kenya party leadership amid deep divisions.

A section of the party members led by Secretary-General Esseli Simiyu met last week and voted to remove Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula as party leader.

The party intends to replace Wetangula with Kanduyi Member of Parliament Wafula Wamunyinyi on an interim basis.

In March last year, Osotsi and Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala laid claim to the political outfit and threatened to kick out Mudavadi and his team.

Senator Malala and Osotsi told Mudavadi to look for a political vehicle to run on in 2022 since he is no longer welcome in the party.

This came after Osotsi was kicked out of the party on Wednesday for failing to toe the line.

“The same mistake he is committing is the same mistake he did with UDF. I would advise him to start looking for a party to run on because ANC has its owners,” Malala said.

“The purported expulsion is null and void. How can you chase someone from a party that is not yours?”

Malala said Osotsi is a bonafide member of ANC and the legitimate secretary general and “is going nowhere”.

Osotsi said anyone who wants to ascertain the real owners of the party should check with the Registrar of Political Parties.

He said he formed ANC in 2015 alongside nine like-minded Kenyans and only roped in Mudavadi after he was kicked out of UDF.

Osotsi later made a surprise retreat, abandoning his hard stance on the ANC leadership.

his statement was reconciliatory. It was a far cry from his confrontational approach to party issues.

“I want to take this opportunity to extend an olive branch to everyone in the party who has perceived my seeking justice to mean undermining the leadership. Our party name,  Amani, stands for peace and in this era of the handshake, we need to be tolerant with each other and exercise utmost respect for each other’s choice of justice,” Osotsi said.

“However, this should not be mistaken as surrender, but an opportunity for the parties involved to create an enabling environment for dispute resolution and ensure peace and tranquillity in the party. “

In a rejoinder, the ANC, through secretary general Muluka, said it had yet to get communication from the MP.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has responded to a suspension letter from his party Amani National Congress that was issued on Friday as a result of his support for ODM candidate Bernard Imran Otieno Okoth in the just concluded Kibra by elections.

In his response, Malala defended himself saying he supported Imran for the Kibra by-election on the basis of the NASA coalition.

Malala who spoke to Citizen Digital argued that the National Super Alliance (NASA) statute allows members to support any candidate from the affiliate parties.

The Senator further claimed that he has not received any official communication from the ANC.

However, a letter from the party disciplinary committee said Malala acted against the party and Statute laws.

“We have established that Malala indeed attended the rally and that in fact he made the offending remarks,” the letter from Committee Chairperson Yare Mohammed reads.

Capt. Mohammed termed Malala’s remarks as impugning, thoughtless and tragic noting that the statements were widely shared on social media.

He was referring to an ODM rally which Malala attended and told voters that as the “highest-placed leader” present from ANC, they should rally behind him and support Okoth.

During the October rally, Malala further alleged that the ANC candidate Eliud Owalo was a ‘project’ of Deputy President William Ruto.

On Friday, Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi defended Malala over the party suspension terming it as ‘a big joke of the year’.

“ANC party has sunk to its lowest by using uncoordinated hirelings with no official status in the party to stifle internal democracy in the party through cheap intimidation tactics that continually erodes Hon Mudavadi political capital and public image,” he said in a statement.

Osotsi was also suspended from the ANC party in March following allegations of misuse of party funds when he served as secretary-general.
