Matiang’i Reveals How Nigerian Drug Dealers Have Confused Nairobi Girls

The macabre killing of a young woman at an Airbnb in Nairobi continues to send shockwaves across the country.

Mutilated body parts of a 24-year-old woman were found stashed at a dustbin in Roysambu on Sunday, January 14. This was just a day after she checked into a rented apartment with an unidentified man, believed to be a Nigerian.

The woman, who has been identified by her family, was lured to her death through Instagram, with the guy promising her a good time.

Kenyans have taken to social media to not only grief the untimely demise of the university student but also to ask why Nigerian criminals are allowed to roam Nairobi carefree.

Roysambu, coincidentally the scene of the macabre killing, is a hotspot for Nigerian men, who spent their time committing online crimes and having good times with young Kenyan women.

The Roysambu murder is not the first crime to be linked to a Nigerian man. Former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i is on record questioning the presence of Nigerian men in Kenya.

In 2019, Matiang’i accused Nigerian men of confusing Kenyan girls to marry them.

“Drug dealers have come to Nairobi and they have confused our girls. They live with them and when police come to arrest them (drug dealers), they claim they are married to a Kenyan,” the no-nonsense CS said at the time.

Matiang’i led a crackdown on illegal immigrants, deporting hundreds of West Africans who were allegedly engaging in crime in Nairobi.
