This comes just a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta convened a Jubilee Party Parliamentary Group meeting at State House, Nairobi.

It is through the meeting that Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali was removed from his post as Majority whip.

Moses Kuria however, some hours to the meeting had released a full list of those that were to be axed, most of them being Deputy President William Ruto’s allies.

Kuria had included himself on the list of those to be axed.

“The common factor between Judas Iscariot and Brutus was that both went for the kill with a grin. Today we had enough smiles. Tonight is the night of long knives. The victims have accepted with grace. I am very proud of my outgoing team. We have done this country great.

“I am heartened by the valour, fortitude and humility with which the axed leaders have taken this betrayal. Hon Aden Duale (Majority Leader), Benjamin Washiali (Majority Whip), Cecily Mbarire (Deputy Majority Whip), Kimani Ichungwa (Budget), William Cheptumo (JLAC), Gladys Boss Shollei (Delegated), Julius Melly (Education), Joseph Limo (Finance), Alice Wahome (Vice-Chair Legal) and myself (Vice-Chair Transport) – you are all heroes. I trust now the economy will grow with double digit,” he said in a Facebook post.

Responding to the letter from Wangwe, Kuria has said that it was well with his soul.

ODM chairman John Mbadi has revealed the fate of Raila Odinga led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party in the wake of a merger between President Kenyatta’s Jubilee and Gideon Moi’s KANU through a post-poll coalition.

Speaking to one of the leading TV stations Monday morning, Mbadi ruled out the possibility that the Jubilee-KANU coalition will negatively affect the close relationship between President Kenyatta and the ODM party leader.

According to Mbadi, the merger will instead strengthen the handshake which brought together the two leaders after the divisive 2017 general election.

Mbadi said that the agreement between ODM and Jubilee party was that each party should not dictate what the other party does.

“If Jubilee decides to go to any merger with Kanu, they are perfectly in order because it is not part of our concern,” Mbadi said.

He added that “Bringing more hands into Jubilee is helpful to the cause of both Jubilee and ODM.. at least for the two leaders who agreed to move this country forward. I don’t think as a party we feel threatened in any way with any arrangements that Jubilee gets into with any friendly party.”

Mbadi was responding to the current turmoil inside the Jubilee house.

The Suba South MP added that the agreement between ODM and Jubilee was not about merging but to address and solve the problems that have been facing the country through the handshake.

He, however, said that if Jubilee party would like to make a further arrangement with ODM ahead of the future elections, the party will discuss it.

“I will not rule out any such possibility because political parties are formed to acquire power and to govern,” he said.

Mbadi’s remarks come after talks of a possible coalition between Jubilee and Kanu after President Uhuru Kenyatta met with Kanu chair Gideon Moi.

The president summoned Jubilee senators for a meeting at State House on Monday. During the meeting, major changes were made in the Jubilee Senate leadership.

West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio was appointed the new Senate Majority leader.

Poghisio will now be deputised by Isiolo senator Fatuma Dullo Adan.

In the new changes, Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata has replaced Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika as the Majority Chief Whip.

Kang’ata will be deputised by Wajir nominated senator Farhiya Ali Haji.

State House spokesperson Kanze Dena-Mararon said 20 senators from both Jubilee and Kanu attended the meeting.

Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has reveald the real reason behind the wrangles being witnessed in the ruling party.

According to Tuju, the troubles began after the handshake between Orange Democrativ Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during one of the popular radio shows Wednesday morning, Tuju said that the people opposed to the truce between Uhuru and Raila had orchestrated the current infighting in the party.

The anti-handshake team, he said, have regrouped and are now rocking the Jubilee ship from within.

Deputy President William Ruto and his men believe the Uhuru wing teamed up with Raila to scuttle his 2022 bid.

Tuju spoke during Ramogi Baraza, a popular Dholuo talk show focusing on current affairs in the country.

Tuju also disclosed that all key decisions within the party are sanctioned by the President.

Ruto and his allies have always singled out the SG for attacks, sometimes claiming his heart is in ODM.

But according to Tuju, the Jubilee Party constitution gives the President immense powers as the party leader.

“As the secretary general of the Jubilee Party, there is nothing I just wake up and do. Everything I do is after consultation with the President who is my boss,” Tuju said

Just recently, Ruto termed Tuju and other Jubilee top brass “crooks and heartless gangsters”.

The remarks came after the ruling party announced plans to make changes to the National Management Committee.

The new officials were installed last week despite Ruto’s protestations.

Tuju described his relationship with Ruto as cordial.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr Mercy Mwngangi on Sunday evening announced that anyone who will be found outside during curfew hours will be arrested and taken into a mandatory quarantine at their own costs.

Her statement comes a few days after Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe and Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai announced that anyone found without a face mask will be arrested to face a six months jail or pay a fine of Ksh 20,000.

But did you know that these announcements have created avenues for police to extort money from Kenyans?

Well, Controversial activist Boniface Mwangi has revealed how rogue Police officers are extracting bribes from poor Kenyans amid Coronavirus crisis.

According to Mwangi, rogue police officers are now asking for bribes threatening to take anyone declining their demand to quarantine at their own cost. In justifying his claims he used a example of his close friend who had to part with a whole sum of Ksh.10,000 to get his brother and a friend released.

“My boy just paid 10,000 bribe at Buruburu police station to get his younger brother and his friend released. The police arrested them while they were outside their house chilling. They were given an option to pay the bribe or be taken to quarantine at their own cost tomorrow,” Mwangi noted.

“My boy laughed and said he is paying the price for voting for Jubilee three times. He told me there is woman who had sent her son to the Mpesa shop and the boy got arrested. He says the woman cried at the station because she didn’t have bribe money until the OCS released the son,” he added.

Kenya Films and Classification Board CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua has come to the rescue of Kendrick Mulamwah, popularly known as Mulamwah, the comedian who recently announced that he was quitting comedy due to cyber bullying.

Mutua through his official twitter account on Wednesday morning said that he had heard the reports of Kenyans on Twitter wanting to push Mulamwah out of comedy, and into depression.

The moral cop encouraged Mulamwah to pick himself up and give him a call.

He has promised to buy the comedian a new shirt, mentor him and make him an ambassador of clean content.

Mutua went ahead to advice Mulamwah that the best way to deal with cyber bullying is refusing to give up.

“I hear that twitterates are driving @mulamwah out of comedy & into depression. Bro pick yourself up and give me a call. I will buy you a new shirt, mentor you and make you an ambassador of clean content. The best way of dealing with cyber bullies is to refuse to give up!” he posted.

Mulamwah took to his social media pages on Monday evening to apologize to his fans for making a decision of quitting comedy.

He shared a video of himself burning his favourite comic shirt, an attire that has always identified himself to his fans.

The comedian noted that the reception on social media had become too harsh for him to bear.

He explained that what was to make him happy makes me more sad, more enemies than friends, too much negativity and trolls.

Mulamwah noted that he wasn’t on social media for fame and bad blood but for fun. He thanked his fans for the support and everyone else who made him successful.

“It wasn’t an easy decision to make . Am sorry guys , what was to make me happy makes me more sad, more enemies than friends, too much negativity, trolls. Controversial political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has hinted at the next Mt Kenya kingpin.

Ngunyi, in an interview with K24 on Sunday night, identified Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe as the man who might be picked to lead the region henceforth, terming him ‘the possible chief in waiting’.

“CS Mutahi Kagwe is a possible chief in waiting among the Kikuyus,” said the man behind the ‘tyranny of numbers’ prediction, where he foresaw Uhuru enjoying the backing of majority of MPs ahead of his 2013 election, a prophecy that came to pass.

He based the observation on Kagwe’s performance in his current position, stating that he has done a brilliant job as the main man in the ongoing battle against the Coronavirus pandemic.

He said that he can see another former President Mwai Kibaki in the CS, adding that he might end up leading the Kikuyu community as Kibaki did between 2002 and 2013, before handing over to Uhuru.

“I think he has done his job splendidly. He interned in the school as Kibaki. He speaks and acts like Kibaki,” he added.

But his remarks might not amuse Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru, who until recently, was being seen as one of the frontrunners in the race to take over from Uhuru come 2022.

Waiguru has been very vocal about Mt Kenya affairs lately, which has made her appear interested in leading the community post Uhuru.

Last year, she said that the region is ready to support former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for the presidency. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM ) leader has for a very long time been unwanted in the region.

A number of commentators have also been suggesting that she might feature in the next government, especially in case of an expansion of the executive, as a representative of the region.

Seventeen members of parliament and senators have reportedly tested positive for the deadly Corona-virus after undergoing tests.

Health Cabinet Secretary Muthai Kagwe on Tuesday afternoon confirmed 14 more news cases, a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed 16 new cases on Monday afternoon.

The 17 MPs are said to spread between the cases that were confirmed on Monday and those that were confirmed on Tuesday.

50 members of parliament underwent tests after they reportedly interacted with Rabai Member of Parliament Kamoti Mwamkale who is among those who have been confirmed to have contracted that virus that’s first spreading across the globe.

Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina on Tuesday afternoon confirmed that indeed the MPs had undergone tests after he shared the results of his test, which came out negative.

Mwamkale is said to have contracted the virus after coming into contact with Kilifi Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi who is said to have contacted the virus abroad. Saburi has since recovered from the virus but is currently in custody after he was arrested last week for failing to self-isolate.

Reports now indicate that more Members of Parliament and Senators have since been confirmed positive to the virus. The identities of the lawmakers who tested positive remain unknown but it is said that they are all those who came into contact with Kamoti.

So far 172 Corona-virus cases have been confirmed in the country. Six people have since succumbed to the deadly pandemic while 7 have fully recovered from it. High profile people who have contacted it in the country are Saburi and Mwamkale.

The government has since put in place measures to ensure that the virus doesn’t spread at an alarming rate. This includes a countrywide 7pm-5am curfew and banning travels into and from Nairobi Metropolitan region, Kilifi, Mombasa and Kwale counties.

Across the globe, over 1.3 million people have been confirmed positive with over 70,000 deaths confirmed. The cure or vaccine for the virus is yet to be unearthed as the virus continues to spread like bush-fire.

Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen has made more proposals in the senate to help in combating coronavirus pandemic.

The Elgeyo Marakwet senator has proposed that Kenya should hire more health workers who should join the fight against COVID-19.

The vocal lawmaker has also proposed that the country puts measure in place to ensure that all the medical students in their final year are graduated to join their colleagues in combating the coronavirus pandemic.

“I have proposed that we hire more health workers. We should also put measure in place to ensure that we graduate all the medical students in their final year and allow them to join their colleagues in combating this monster called COVID19,” posted Murkomen.

Murkomen has been on the forefront making bold moves in an effort to help contain the pandemic.

On Wednesday, Murkomen challenged the government to come up with a plan to cushion the poor amid hard economic times caused by coronavirus pandemic.

He moved a motion demanding the government to establish a cash transfer programme to cushion over 10 million families living in informal settlements.

Murkomen said there was a need for the government to cater to the basic needs of families including the provision of food and water.

“A broad-based stimulus package is needed to cushion the poor of the poor from the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic. If we do not guarantee food to Kenyans living in Mathare or Kibera slums, they will walk to Muthaiga to get food for themselves,” he said.

On Thursday afternoon, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe confirmed 29 more cases in the country, bringing the total to 110.

CS Kagwe also confirmed two more fatalities, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to three.

He however, confirmed one more recovery, the Kilifi County Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi, that brought the total number of recoveries to four.

A raft of tough measures have been put in place to stop the spread of the virus.

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has dismissed claims by the government that two people identified as Brenda and Brian had been healed from COVID-19.

On Wednesday, April 1, President Uhuru Kenyatta held a televised meeting with two recovered coronavirus patients.

The president who was at State House engaged with the recovered patients, Brenda and Brian who were at Afya House.

The President identified the two patients as Brenda Cherotich who was the first patient to test positive for the virus in the country and Brian Orina who got infected by Brenda.

“Brenda we have been referring to you as patient 1, it was necessary to keep your details confidential but you are a special woman and a special young Kenyan because immediately you felt something was wrong, realizing what was happening in the world and without being coerced or pushed by your parents you took it upon yourself to go to Kenyatta Hospital and to tell them you were not well. We are very proud of you Brenda,” the President stated

Confident Brenda and Brian narrated how they discovered they had the virus and their journey to recovery.

However, Moses Kuria argues that the head of state was misled on this.

Mr Kuria has termed the President’s meeting with Brenda and Brian as the Prophet Owuor healing Press Conference for the Brenda & Brian Initiative, arguing that the government performed badly on COVID-19.

He says that Kenyans should not be fooled, but continue staying safe.

The controversial lawmaker argues that coronavirus is a very lethal killer. He says 100,000 Americans will die in the next two weeks as confirmed by President Trump.

He further argues that someone misled President Kenyatta, arguing that the head of state is lonely.

According to Moses Kuria, President Kenyatta is missing his deputy, Dr William Ruto.

“From a communications point of view, the Government of Kenya performed badly on COVID-19 yesterday. Forget the Prophet Owuor healing Press Conference for the Brenda & Brian Initiative. Do not be fooled. Continue keeping safe. Corona Virus is a very lethal killer. 100,000 Americans will die in the next 2 weeks as confirmed by President Trump. I think someone misled my President yesterday. And I think my President is lonely. And I think my President misses his Deputy,” he posted.

Wafula Chebukati-led Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has postponed all the upcoming by-elections.

This follows the coronavirus pandemic that has continued to affect the economy of the country.

It further noted that its day to day operations have been greatly affected.

The commission was set to conduct by-elections in Dabaso ward (Kilifi County), Kahawa Wendani Ward (Kiambu County), Kisumu North ward (Kisumu County), Wundanyi/Mbale ward (Taita Taveta County) and Msambweni Constituency for a parliamentary seat that was left vacant following the demise of MP Suleiman Dori.

The elections have also been postponed to avoid public gatherings that would be witnessed during campaigns and nominations.

In this era, people actually acknowledge use of condoms as “old-fashioned”. They ignore the risks that come with unprotected sex and the effectiveness of condoms.

Unprotected sexual contact (when no condoms are used) may lead to the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

A person may sometimes not be aware they have an STI since many do not have any outward signs or symptoms. One can transmit without even knowing it.

It is best to avoid sexual acts if the partner has:

  • Swollen lymph nodes in the groin
  • Abnormal foul_smelling discharge
  • Warts, swelling, inflammation, redness or soreness in the genital area.

So it is actually very important to use protection. However, condoms do not protect against publice lice, scabies or HPV ( the virus transmitted through any contact with an infected person’s genitals and the skin around them )

It is also important to note that many individuals are not aware of their status. Whenever you have a new partner , it is best to use protection until both of you have been tested for STIs.

So you met a cool person who you’re about to go out with. Exciting? Totally. A little nerve-wracking? Of course. So, how do you deal with the anxiety that inevitably comes with first-date territory?

As cliché as it sounds, being yourself is probably best first date advice. It’ll ensure that you not only have a good time on a first date, but also get a second date, too.

That said, there are a few fairly concrete do’s and don’ts to keep in mind when hanging out with someone totally new—just remember that it’s all about making a solid first impression to land a second date with someone you really like.

DO’s

  1. DO Speak Up
Nobody likes a pushover, so if your date tells you he or she has planned an evening at a sushi restaurant and you don’t eat fish, or they want to hang at a cocktail lounge but you don’t drink, speak up. It’ll only look strange if you tell them all that after you’re already seated and waiting to order. Same goes for being decisive. If your date asks what you’d like to eat, drink, or share for dessert, don’t say “I don’t care, what do you want?” Wishy-washy can get real old, real fast.
  2. DO Be On Time
Yeah, we know the whole “fashionably late” ideology still exists, but on a first date, you’ll make a better impression if you show up on time. Would you want them to show up late? Probably not.
  3. DO Put Your Phone Away
This is the big one, ladies: The act of obsessively checking your phone every two minutes could be a bona fide deal breaker. There’s nothing more rude than trying to have a conversation with a person who’s constantly stating at a screen. Checking Instagram can wait—and definitely don’t post any status updates, tweets about your date in real-time, or snap any candid pics when they’re not looking. That’s just weird.
  4. DO Ask Questions
A foolproof way to ensure that conversation will always be flowing is to simply ask questions. Keep them semi-general (work, family, hobbies, etc.) until you both feel comfortable enough to tackle the big stuff, like politics and religion.
  5. DO Offer to Pay
A tactful way to do this is to simply reach for the check when it comes. If your date insists, offer to split the bill, or at least leave the tip. However, if you offer to pay or split, be prepared to actually pay or split.
  6. DO be Positive
No matter how shitty of a day you had at work, or whether the restaurant you’re at has terrible service, try your best to stay positive when getting to know someone. It’ll alleviate any anxiety he/she is having about whether he/she is showing you a good time, and it’ll just make you more fun to be around, pure and simple.

DON’TS

  1. DON’T Wear Things That You Can’t Walk, Eat, Breathe, or Talk in
Obviously, you want to look your best, but a first date isn’t the time to take those new stilettos out for a road test, or wear that dress that’s a little too tight. Why? Because first dates are anxiety-filled enough and being uncomfortable in your clothes only makes it worse. Plus, won’t it suck to not be able to walk a few blocks on a nice night because your heels are too high?
  2. DON’T Drink Too Much
There’s not much to say here without sounding like a preachy human, but keep this in mind: Having to be carried home by someone you barely know isn’t fun (nor is slurring your words or crying at the dinner table). Sure, a cocktail or two can be fun and loosen the mood, but know your limits.
  3. DON’T Obsess Over Your Appearance
Who wants to waste precious date time running to bathroom to brush your hair, reapply your lipstick, or check the mirror every half hour? Put as much effort into your appearance as you want before you meet your date, but focus your energy on making solid conversation instead of worrying about how you look.
  4. DON’T Stalk After the Date
If you had a wonderful time and feel like shooting your date a casual text later that night or the next day, go for it. Just maybe don’t stalk and accidentally like their Instagram photos—or worse, their ex’s Instagram photos.

Have you ever been stressed? Well, how did you manage the situation? There are some things that people take to be their close friends when they get stressed only for them to turn out to be false friends.

Well, drug and substance abuse has been a common trend among people in efforts to manage stress. However, there are three common drugs that are abused during this situation.

ALCOHOL
Some people drink alcohol to relieve stress. They may think drinking is an easy way to relax and forget their problems. But this can be actually very harmful.

It is true that alcohol can stimulate the production of serotonin and endorphins in the brain, which generates feeling of relaxation and euphoria. But over time, alcohol can lead to addiction. Drinking alcohol also disrupts the normal functioning of certain organs, including the brain, pancreas and liver.

NICOTINE
Smoking a cigarette can bring almost instant relaxation since nicotine reaches the brain quickly. The effect, however, is very short-lived, while nicotine can have a long-lasting impact. It is an extremely addictive substance that can lead to a number of health problems. Smoking also inteferes with proper lung function, blood production and circulation.

CAFFEINE
Many people drink coffee to boost their energy levels throughout the day. The beverage produces this effect thanks to caffein, which has many health benefits when consumed in moderation.
i.e; up to 4 cups a day. However, excessive amounts can affect your pulse rate and blood pressure, making it harder to feel calm and relaxed.

One wants to feel confident and comfortable when visiting a specialist such as a gynecologist

As much as women are too scrupulous about their hygiene prior to an appointment, excessive thoroughness may adversely affect the examination and smear test results.

This is because during the exam the doctor pays attention to the nature, color, odor and amount of vaginal discharge among other things. Therefore changes in parameters may indicate chances of having a disease.

However, this does not mean that you give up personal hygiene at all.

So, prior to an appointment, it is recommended that you wash your vagina with warm water but without using antibacterial soap since such products also affect the vaginal pH and can distort the results.

Intimacy is that quality of being close, self-disclosing, and affectionate with another person. It means being able to share a whole range of thoughts, feelings and experiences that we have as human beings.

It involves being open and talking through your thoughts and emotions, letting your guard down, and showing someone else how you feel and what your hopes and dreams are.

Intimacy is built up over time

●Celebrate the good things in your relationship.
●Talk openly about your feelings and what you need from the relationship.
●Create opportunities for intimacy.
●Accept that your relationship will have highs and lows.
●Be positive about what you have in your relationship.

Intimacy also requires patience and effort from both partners to create and maintain.

Discovering intimacy with someone you love can be one of the most rewarding aspects of a relationship.

Apart from emotional and sexual intimacy, you can also be intimate intellectually, recreationally, financially, spiritually, creatively (for example, renovating your home) and at times of crisis (working as a team during tough times).

This will surely create a stronger bond between you and your partner.

These days, going to a parlour to get your nails done isn’t really a must. You can do your nails at the comfort of your room.Save money and do it for yourself. All you require is:
a)Nail cutter
b)Nail file
c)Nail buffer
d)Stickons (artificial nails)
e)Nail polish of your choice.
You can get a little bit creative to transform your nail painting into real nail art without making it look complicated as it may seem.
STEPS TO DO IT YOURSELf NAILS.
1)Apply glue on your natural nails then stick the artificial nails on.Do this for your nails on each and every finger.Ensure you pick the right size of the artificial nails that fit with yours naturally to avoid them looking all plastic and fake.
2)Take the nail buffer and buff your nails. This will help you have a more natural look.
3)Use the nail cutter to trim them to your desired size.Ensure you have them on the length you are comfortable with to avoid discomfort while having them on.
4)File them to the shape you want and smoothen the edges to help you have a more neat look.
5)Lastly, apply your nail polish and get creative for a better look. This will enable you to have a better look on your nails rather than having a plain look.
-Some of the nail art designs you can do by yourself are:
a) Pairing of colors- You have to take two or more colors of your choice and apply them according to your desirable pattern.
b)Laced nails- Take a piece of lace, wrap it around your nail and dab the nail polish on it. Remove the piece of lace which will leave the prints on the nail.
c)Splattering of polish on nails- You simply need a small brush to splatter a color.Dip the brush in polish and then in nail polish remover so that its thin enough to splatter.
